You do need a website

The Internet is the primary mechanism for reaching donors and caseworkers.  A simple website will work for starters.  Try to find one that let's you do the typing and updating.  A fancy site is no good if you cannot change it once the volunteer programmer disappers.

I still maintain our site and do our weekly E-news for these reasons. Yes, it is sometimes campy but donors feel like real people are behind our organization. You can scare people off with pretty graphics and polished sites that do not provide clear direct information about what you accept, how you work etc.

Keep it simple, do it yourself if possible, keep it fluid so you can update easily.
